Welcome to the World of Theater Dance Styles!
Participants will build strength, flexibility, and performance skills through conditioning, movements in the center, and traveling combinations. We will learn choreography from musicals while incorporating technique and storytelling into each new combination.
This class is great for those who are interested in exploring a different style of dance or who are interested in performing in school or community theater.
Participants should wear: comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows them to move freely (no jeans, please).
Clean jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or dance sneakers may be worn.
Please, wear indoor shoes only.
Long hair should be securely pulled away from the face.
Individual & group work serves first-time and more experienced participants.
This workshop is full of laughter and the support so vital to making participants feel safe to learn new things, to take creative risks and to fully express themselves. Participants will come away with new skills and confidence.
Class will culminate with an Interactive Sharing of the works created during the 8-week session.
(If it's possible, we will livestream the sharing so family unable to be in the theater can watch from the safety of their home.)
No audition necessary. No pre-requisites.
Suitable for first time and returning students, age 13 up/teens-adults.
